This work arose from two computer-generated images: Three Spring Dresses, and Labels dress, reflecting on a specific period in 2006 and the death of my partner. The prints combined factual imagery from the period with marks, colours and textures to suggest subjective qualities. I used the form of a dress here, as a vehicle to relate personal emotional states, experimenting with the use of specific materials to communicate them. The dresses created a place, identifiable with a person, in which to explore and communicate emotional experience.
