I am a practicing visual artist with a longstanding history of working in residencies, in art education at all levels and in producing or commissioning studio and site specific art work. I have co-curated many projects and exhibitions and am co-editor of 1SSUE; an Artists’ books project.

Teaching fine art, arts & health and professional practice on BA(Hons) and MA Arts Practice; Fine Art and Arts Health and Wellbeing. Delivering conceptual, professional & practical skills.

2015 – present: Capital Arts Manager, Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Commissioner of public artworks for Welsh Goverment funded hospital regeneration schemes.

2015 – present: Creative Agent, Lead Creative Schools Scheme, South Wales.
Advisor, co-organisor and commissioner of bespoke creative learning projects in schools. Commissioned by Arts Council of Wales in partnership with Welsh Government.

2002 – present: Artist in residence. Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Healthboard, South Wales.  Current focus: commissioning art for Dewi Sant Health Park Scheme.

Creative response to a ‘History Wall’ as part of the transition to new hospital.

2014: Clockview Hospital, Liverpool. Appointed to make artworks for the external and internal entrance of a new Mental Health institution involving patient and community design input. Commissioned by Mersey Healthcare NHS Trust.

2013 : Keir Hardy Health Park, Merthyr Tydfil. Designed and fabricated artworks for the entrance foyer via co-creative community workshops. Commissioned by Cwm Taff University Health Board.

2011 : Olympic Deckchairs. Appointed with Becky Adams to design 500 unique deckchairs in collaboration with 430 local people for 2012 Olympics. Commissioned by Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.

2011 : Pontypridd Poetry and Song. Appointed to design bespoke paving as part of town centre re-developments, involving local residents and poet clare.e.potter in the process. Commissioned by Rhondda Cynon Taff County Council.

2010 : Canada Road, Cardiff.  Public art project involving pupils from Ysgol Mynydd Bychan in the design of bespoke paving. Commissioned by Cardiff County Council

2009: Sanvey Gate, Change Over Time. Leicester town centre. Design Phase for three landmark features based on Leicester’s industries of knitting, shoe making and typewriters. Commissioned by Leicester County Council

2008 : The Ginnells project. Ebbw Vale Stairwells project; 80 bronze risers. Involved planning and executing a community participation strategy which resulted in an exhibition/performance event and workshops involving 11 artists and 15 community groups unearthing local stories.Commissioned by Safle & Blaena Gwent County Council

2008 : Rhymney High Street regeneration scheme, Rhymney Valley. Bespoke seating and sculptural artwork based on poetry by Idris Davies. Involved series of community design workshops. Commissioned by Cywaith Cwmru.Artwork Wales & Blaena Gwent County Council.

2007 : Town to Sea trail, Colchester. Sculptural markers along the river from Colchester to the Hythe. Included organising a workshop programme for 10 groups exploring historical themes. Commissioned by Colchester Council

2007 : Fitzhammon Embankment, Cardiff. Sculptural forms in steel and bronze, based on spices. Series of workshops with Riverside residents and local schools. Commissioned by Cywaith Cwmru.Artwork Wales & Cardiff County Council.

2006 : Gerddi Courtmead Gardens, Cardiff. Resident’s pocket park. Collaborative design of park and bronze fl oor trail based on the river, through workshops with schools, residents and historians.

2005 : Beacon 1 & 2. Princess Way, Swansea. Sculptural landmark artworks based on navigation as part of street regeneration. Commissioned by Cywaith Cwmru. Artwork Wales & Swansea County Council.
